One-stop service for the EU’s Eco-Design Regulation for Sustainable Products (ESPR)

We provide enterprises with practical and feasible one-stop green compliance service support
From design compliance to value leap, help Chinese enterprises master ESPR rules and seize the green initiative in the EU market.

  • What is ESPR?

The EU’s “Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation” (ESPR) is a comprehensive upgrade of the 2009 “Ecodesign Directive”.

  • The ESPR requires that products must comply with eco-design requirements before entering the EU market for circulation or use, aiming to enhance the sustainability and resource efficiency of all physical goods throughout their entire life cycle. Its core contents include:

  • · Products sold within the European Union are required to meet design requirements such as “durability, repairability, recyclability, and the proportion of recycled materials”.

  • · Introduce the “Digital Product Passport (DPP)” system to enhance supply chain traceability and carbon information transparency.

  • · For some categories, the destruction of unsold goods is prohibited.

  • The effective time of ESPR

ESPR is a framework regulation. After coming into effect in July 2024, it has been gradually implemented by product category through a series of specific implementation rules.

  • In April 2025, ESPR released its first Working Plan (2025-2030), identifying priority product groups such as steel, aluminum, textiles, batteries, furniture, ICT, etc. According to the work plan, the EU will set sustainable design technology and information disclosure standards for specific product categories in the priority product group.

  • The specific requirements for the first batch of products are expected to be gradually implemented from 2026 to 2027. Export enterprises involved in the scope need to make early plans and preparations to seize the market opportunity!

  • ESPR coverage

Apart from food, medicine and feed, almost all physical goods sold in the EU market have been included, covering key categories for Chinese export enterprises such as textiles, electronic appliances, furniture, plastic products, batteries and building materials.

What difficulties do enterprises face in achieving ESPR compliance?

  • The threshold for understanding regulations and compliance is high

The ESPR regulations are complex in content, and the implementation path will gradually unfold from the detailed rules of multiple product categories. Enterprises need to determine whether their products are included in the control list, and as regulations are constantly updated, it is difficult for them to respond in a timely manner.

  • The ability of product ecological design is insufficient

Traditional OEM/ ODM-oriented design does not align with ecological design. Modifying the structure involves the entire supply chain. Most enterprises themselves do not have the ability to carry out product LCA (Life Cycle Analysis) and ecological design diagnosis, as well as plan the green transformation path of products.

  • The connection of digital product passports is complex

Enterprises are required to upload structured and dynamically updatable data to the designated platform of the European Union, including component composition, recycling and reuse rate, carbon footprint, maintenance guidelines, material sources, etc. This places extremely high demands on information technology capabilities and data authenticity.

  • The traceability of supply chain data is low

ESPR involves the “chain compliance” requirements accomplished through the joint efforts of upstream enterprises such as materials and components. However, the domestic product material traceability chain is short, carbon data is missing or scattered, and it is difficult for upstream and downstream enterprises to cooperate, making it hard to provide the required complete information.

Our professional service: One-stop ESPR green compliance solution

We are committed to providing one-stop ESPR green compliance support services for Chinese export enterprises, enabling our clients to enter the European market efficiently, safely and sustainably.

  • Regulatory interpretation and compliance path planning

For the types of enterprise products, customize and interpret the scope of application, time nodes and expected regulatory standards of ESPR, and formulate a phased compliance roadmap.

  • Evaluation and Enhancement of ecological Design capabilities

Conduct ecological design reviews from aspects such as product repairability, material recyclability, disassemblable structure, and carbon footprint, and provide optimization paths and low-carbon design guidelines.

  • Digital Passport Construction and Data Support

Assist in establishing the DPP (Digital Product Passport) data system, including the generation and verification of contents such as life cycle carbon footprint, proportion of recycled materials, material traceability, and disassembly guidelines. Enhance the efficiency of enterprise information disclosure and the standardization ability of compliance documents.

  • Green supply chain collaborative management

By leveraging the AI+ data management platform to support enterprises in promoting the collaborative collection of sustainable information from upstream suppliers, a full-chain carbon information collection and disclosure capability is built to enhance the quality of ESG disclosure and achieve an upgrade from “point compliance” to “chain compliance”.

  • One-stop service for multiple green compliance

Breaking the “single regulatory response” path, we create an integrated green compliance system for enterprises, enabling one-stop compliance with multiple green barriers and ESG disclosure requirements, making their overseas expansion more efficient and smooth!
